Stanford AI4ALL aims to increase inclusion in the field of artificial intelligence. During this three-week online program, students are immersed in AI through a combination of lectures, hands-on research projects, and mentoring activities.
Stanford AI4ALL is a two-week online program designed to increase inclusion in the field of artificial intelligence by immersing students in AI through lectures, hands-on research projects, and mentoring activities. Participants engage with professionals and explore cutting-edge topics such as Robotics, Computer Vision, Medical AI, and Natural Language Processing, while gaining exposure to the potential of AI to improve society. In collaboration with the Stanford AI Lab, the program provides students with hands-on experience on significant research projects, fosters personal growth through career development workshops, and inspires excitement about AI's transformative possibilities.

9th graders or rising 10th graders in the summertime.
Must be over the age of 14 by the start of the program.
Preference for students with math and/or computer skills
We expect students to commit to participating in the full-day agenda (9am-3pm PST) throughout the entirety of the 2-week program.

The online application consists of questions related to the applicants interests and experiences in a short-essay format as well as 1 math equation. Applicants are required to upload your CV/resume, unofficial transcript, and 1 recommendation letter.
To qualify, you must meet one of the following criteria, along with providing the corresponding proof:
Gross Family Income Below $80,000 per Year
Proof required: A copy of the family’s 2023 tax return showing total annual income.
Enrollment in a Federal, State, or Local Program Supporting Low-Income Families
Proof required: Official documentation on letterhead from the program confirming the student's enrollment.
Demonstration of Financial Need
Proof required: A letter from a high school principal, high school counselor, financial aid officer, or community leader explaining the student’s financial need. The letter must be on official letterhead and include the name, role, email, and phone number of the person providing the recommendation. Alternatively, the applicant may write a short essay explaining their financial need or extenuating circumstances. Please note, we may schedule a follow-up discussion and request additional documentation to verify the details provided.

What is the criteria to be accepted into this program? Stanford AI4ALL considers all applicants equally. However, here are some key characteristics we look for in applicants: Excel in academics, have a passion for STEM, a history of pursuing interests or being self-motivated, have done outreach or volunteer experience, have demonstrated problem-solving and math skills, have leadership skills, and have a good recommendation letter.
How can a student express these characteristics in their application? There will be two essay prompts in which students can express their experiences thoroughly.
Is the program online or in-person? In 2025, the program will be conducted fully online.
Will you accept late submissions? No.
Is there financial aid available? Yes, see above for a link to financial aid application.
How do I submit my reference? You will submit the information for your reference on Slideroom, the application portal. You will submit your reference’s full name, email, phone number, and title. Once submitted, Slideroom will send an email to the reference email requesting the letter. The reference will upload the letter via the link sent to them. You may send reminders to your reference to complete the letter. All letters are required to be submitted by the deadline.
Can I email my reference letter? We prefer them to be submitted on Slideroom via the link sent to the reference by email. But, in a worst case scenario where you or the reference experience any technical difficulties with Slideroom, they may email it to us.
I submitted my application. Now what? We will go through an application review process for several weeks. We take time to thoroughly review each applicant. Applicants will be notified of their admissions decision in April 2025 and be granted admission or waitlisted.
