Bethanie Maples

PhD in Learning Sciences and Technology Design (LSTD), Stanford University

Bethanie's research focuses on embodied AI and NLP in education. She ran product for teams at Google AI and Google X, and advises the OECD, UNESCO and philanthropic foundations on AI policy, education and technology. She's a founder, likes sailing, and science fiction. Bethanie's research focuses on how to blend formal and informal, cognitive and social support structures with artificial intelligence to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. By combining learning science, mental health expertise, and emerging generative AI tooling, we can advance our understanding of how we might scaffold, track, enhance and develop learning and curiosity contribute to student mental health, motivation, and mindset.
