Ritchie Lee

Staff Researcher, NASA Ames Research Center

Ritchie Lee is a researcher at NASA Ames Research Center, employed by Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies, Inc.

As part of the Robust Software Engineering (RSE) group in Ames’ Intelligent Systems Division, Ritchie conducts research on decision-making systems, machine learning, and controls.  Of particular interest is developing algorithmic tools for the design and analysis of safety-critical cyber-physical systems including aircraft collision avoidance systems, air traffic automation, autonomous ground vehicles, and unmanned aerial systems (UASs).

Ritchie holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.S. degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Waterloo.

Ritchie’s Ph.D. work on the next-generation Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS X) was advised by Prof. Ole Mengshoel (formerly CMU-SV, now NTNU) and Prof. Mykel Kochenderfer (Stanford)
