Yiwen Dong
HAI Postdoctoral Fellow
Yiwen Dong is a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford HAI. Her research is pioneering the development of health-aware built environment through ambient vibration sensing and physics-informed machine learning. Her innovative approach fused interdisciplinary knowledge from engineering and medicine, making real-world impacts by providing accessible gait health monitoring for children with muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy. In addition to improving human health, Yiwen’s research has also enabled pig health monitoring in collaboration with USDA by sensing pig-induced ground vibrations during the lactation period. Her work has garnered recognition through publications in top-tier conferences and journals across engineering and medicine, earning her multiple best paper and presentation awards. Before starting a Ph.D., Yiwen received her M.S. in Structural Engineering at Stanford University and earned her B.Eng. in Civil Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
