AI in 2020: Industrialization, Surveillance, China, and Beyond
Artificial Intelligence is set to shape global competitiveness over the coming decades, promising to grant early adopters a significant economic and strategic advantage. What were the most significant developments in AI that occurred in 2020? How has COVID-19 affected the AI Industry? Where does the United States stand on the global race for leadership in AI?
Please join the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), the Congressional Artificial Intelligence Caucus, and the Senate Artificial Intelligence Caucus, on March 12, 10-11am PT/1-2pm ET, for a briefing exclusive to Congressional staff. We will present the findings of the 2021 AI Index Report, an annual report that measures and evaluates the rapid rate of AI advancement, enabling decision-makers to take meaningful action to advance AI responsibly and ethically with humans in mind.
Stanford HAI experts and AI Index Steering Committee members Jack Clark, Deep Ganguli, Terah Lyons, and Michael Sellitto will discuss data and outcomes covered by the report and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
The AI Index is an independent initiative at Stanford HAI. The initiative is led by the AI Index Steering Committee, an interdisciplinary group of experts from across academia and industry. Its goal is to be the world’s most credible and authoritative source for data and insights about AI.
This is an exclusive briefing for Congressional staff, and a Congressional email address is needed to register.
