Desire Nalukwago

HAI Graduate Fellow

Desire is a Biology PhD student in the Mordecai lab at Stanford. She started research in an undergraduate behavioral ecology lab studying life history trade-offs, where she gained an interest in applying these concepts to disease ecology. Desire is passionate about quality healthcare, bridging the gap between scientists and communities through communication as well as improving STEM education in LMICs. Desire is interested in infectious diseases and understanding the ecological factors that influence their transmission. Desire is excited about the ways advanced technology might be harnessed for purposes of improving public health, especially in places where quality healthcare is inaccessible as well as science education and community outreach.
