Mofan Zhang

Mofan Zhang is currently a PhD candidate at Fletcher Lab in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Her research integrates simulation, optimization, and artificial intelligence (AI) in water resources systems planning. Before coming to Stanford, she has a M.S. in Operations Research at Johns Hopkins University and B.S. in Water Resources and Hydrology at Tsinghua University, China. In her free time, she enjoys reading science fiction novels, playing the piano, and travelling with family and friends. She is also a nature lover and passionate about small animal protection. Mofan's research focuses on system-level simulation and optimization for water resources systems planning under uncertainty. Mofan's overarching goal is to reduce the impact of climate change on vulnerable populations by providing AI-driven solutions for adaptive water supply planning.
