
Stela Tong is a second-year PhD student in the Operations, Technology, and Information group at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Her research focuses on large language models and AI agents, exploring their applications in hypothesis generation and human–AI alignment, as well as examining the environmental impact of AI—especially in the context of data centers and large-scale model deployment. Before beginning her PhD, she spent several years working on AI for scientific research and was actively involved in AI startups.
