Valeh Valiollah Pour Amiri

HAI Graduate Fellow

External Bio

Valeh is a PhD student in Genetics with a BS in Computer Science from Télécom Paris and an MS in Computer Engineering from Columbia University. After working on large-scale distributed systems at Microsoft, a personal health journey inspired her to pivot toward computational biology, where she now combines machine learning and genomics to advance our understanding of cellular function. Her research focuses on developing interpretable, DNA sequence-based AI models to emulate and elucidate the molecular machinery of living cells, contributing to the long-term goal of building a comprehensive “virtual cell”.
