Stanford Causal Science Center

A campus-wide hub for learning, collaboration, and discovery in causal inference across disciplines.

Upcoming Events

Ongoing Event Series

The Causal Science Center convenes the community year-round through a vibrant portfolio of events.

  • Stanford Causal Science Conference: Flagship event, open to the public

  • SC^2 Student Conference: A student-focused forum spotlighting emerging scholars.

Beyond conferences, the Center fosters ongoing connections through:

  • CausaliTEA: A quarterly networking mixer

  • Online seminars on causal inference

In addition, the Center co-hosts the Bay Area Tech Economics Seminar Series (BATES) in collaboration with the University of San Francisco (USF), bringing together researchers and practitioners at the intersection of economics, technology, and causal inference.

Goals

Build Community

The Stanford Causal Science Center (SC²) brings together students, postdocs, and faculty from across Stanford, as well as industry members who are interested in understanding cause and effect. Through seminars, workshops, and conferences, we create opportunities for exchanging ideas and sparking new collaborations.

Advance Training and Research

We support scholars applying causal inference methods in diverse fields, from statistics, computer science, and the social sciences to biomedical research and law, helping them use data to uncover how the world really works.
