Professor Sinan Aral, Director of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy, will share key insights from his new book, The Hype Machine, How Social Media Disrupts Our Elections, Our Economy, and Our Health–and How We Must Adapt.

Drawing on two decades of research and business experience, The Hype Machine reveals the impact of social media on the 2020 U.S. elections, and how we balance the need for privacy, regulation, and open access in a world of unbridled online information.
