Tobias Gerstenberg

Assistant Professor of Cognitive Psychology, Stanford University

Tobias Gerstenberg is an Assistant Professor in Psychology at Stanford University. He leads the Causality in Cognition Lab (http://cicl.stanford.edu) which studies the role that causality plays in people's understanding of the world, and of each other. In his research, Gerstenberg develops computational models of how people think. He tests the predictions of these models in large-scale online experiments, as well as in eye-tracking studies in the lab. Gerstenberg received his MSc and PhD from University College London under the supervision of Prof. David Lagnado. Before joining Stanford, he worked as a postdoctoral associate in Prof. Joshua Tenenbaum's lab at MIT.
