The companies building artificial intelligence have promised to transform the world. But who gets to decide what that transformation looks like and what happens when people who have worked inside those companies question their direction? Jacob Coxon recently made a very public decision to leave Anthropic, a company that has made the responsible development of AI central to its identity. His departure opens a window into a greater debate about technological ambition, institutional accountability, and the responsibilities of the companies building these increasingly powerful systems. In this conversation, Coxon will join Stanford Professor Rob Reich to discuss his departure from Anthropic and the questions it raises about safety, power, and principles in the AI industry.
