Maya Varma is a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University, and her research focuses on the applications of artificial intelligence techniques to global healthcare challenges. She graduated from Stanford in 2020 with honors and distinction, completing a bachelor's degree in computer science and a minor in electrical engineering. Maya is a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellow, and a Barry M. Goldwater Scholar.
