The Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI is pleased to announce that PwC LLP has joined as a member of the Stanford HAI Corporate Affiliate Program’s Financial Services focus area.

The focus area is geared specifically to the finance sector, collaborating with banks, fintech, insurance, and other financial services institutions in areas including responsible AI, human-centered design, human-computer interaction, and more.

PwC US will work with faculty and students in the research areas of foundation model explainability and accountability, economic and workforce impacts of artificial intelligence, and AI in the business of financial services.

“Financial services is one of the major industries that is already beginning to see the transformative power of AI,” says Stanford HAI Co-director James Landay. “Companies in this space need to be thinking about the business and human impact of these advances, and we’re thrilled to be working with PwC US on responsible AI.”

"We are excited to join Stanford HAI's Corporate Affiliate program, marking a milestone in our commitment to innovation and trust in the digital era. By combining Stanford HAI's research with PwC's industry expertise, we aim to help organizations harness the power of AI responsibly and ethically,” said Dan Priest, PwC’s U.S. Chief AI Officer.

"This initiative aligns with PwC's leadership in shaping the future of audit and to bring assurance to AI's use in business. We are eager to collaborate with Stanford HAI to drive innovation in AI accountability, digital economics, and corporate governance to drive positive societal impact and the amplification of human potential with AI," said Tim Persons, PwC Principal for AI.

“The corporate affiliate program is designed to help businesses navigate the disruptive power of AI,” says Panos Madamopoulos-Moraris, Stanford HAI’s Managing Director for Industry Programs and Partnerships. “We’re excited to have one of the largest accounting firms in the U.S. join our corporate affiliate program as we look to implement this powerful technology in a human-centered way.”

The HAI Corporate Affiliate Program engages with companies that share HAI’s mission to advance AI research, education, policy, and practice to improve the human condition. The program provides the opportunity for these companies to interact with Stanford faculty as well as other corporate members, through educational experiences, lectures, research, and more.
